"This thing is giant and sturdy with beautiful, even brutal details and construction, the three materials all vary slightly in their quest for blackness." —R4TH
"I carried 4 and a half gallons of paint from Manhattan to Brooklyn in the black Steele tote from the Kiosk show... It performed like a champ." —AAPC

"The chair was made, in a very limited, hand-made edition, for the Girard-designed company cafe at the Detrola Radio headquarters in Detroit. Thank you to Marilyn Neuhart for the photograph of the cafe, from her Alexander Girard archive, with the chairs clearly visible, circa 1946 (the cafe was only open until 1948, when Detrola went out of business). The chair is 100% original and in very good condition, with chips and scratches to the paint and a few other minor blemishes, here and there... A beautifully designed and almost impossible to find piece." Auction ends January 30, 6:37 EST.
