Gerald Summers c. 1933

  1. Why does anyone claim with such authority this is by Gerald Summers?
Although the legs are similar to his arched leg design -and the material is ply the similarity tends to end there for me. Summers imbued every design with simplified construction methods and the side seat support where it adjoins the curved back is very crudely constructed this would definitely not have been something he would do. Infact, it's a very cumbersome design altogether and the curve of the seat is too thick and heavy. This certainly hails from the 30's but unless anyone can furnish evidence to the contrary I'd say it was 'in the style of' Gerald Summers.
